Nathan Hedge wins Nixon WTA J-BayIt was Australian Nathan Hedge who received the highest heat score during the Billabong Pro J-Bay, which earned him the win of Nixon’s 2nd WTA stop of 2012. Nathan scored big with an impressive 19.27 beating out Dane Gudauskas, Torrey Meister and Francisco Bellorin. Nathan, a goofy foot warrior, is considered to have one of the strongest backhand attacks in the business.
Nathan’s win for highest heat score means he took home a one-of-a-kind black high-polish Nixon 51-30 watch featuring a Swiss quartz analog with tide function, black sunray dial, an applied South African flat the 6 o’clock position, a white diamond at 12 o’clock and topped off with 36 white diamonds set inside the bezel. This custom watch valued at over $10,000 USD.
The next and 3rd stop of the 2012 Nixon WTA will take place next month in Teahupoo, Tahiti during the Billabong Pro and will be awarded for “heaviest wave”. The final WTA stop of the year will take place during The Triple Crown on Hawaii’s North Shore in December.
