Nixon Music Trips To Burger-A-Go-Go

Tucked away in the Orange County town of Fullerton, CA, the always on point Burger Records put on their first Burger A-Go-Go and it was organized chaos in all the right ways.

On August 2nd, we packed up the camera and a handful of our favorite new Nixon's and headed north to The Observatory in Santa Ana. The female fronted fest put established acts the likes of Best Coast, Bleached, The Muffs, Shannon & The Clams and Dum Dum Girls alongside amazing up and comers like Summer Twins, The Feels, Téte, L.A. Witch and more.

While the full day did more than inspire us that the future of riff-riddled rock and roll is in great hands, our most memorable moment may have been Bethany Consentino of Best Coast capping off their set with a guitarless cover Blink-182's "Dammit," followed by the toss of an inflatable palm tree out into the screaming, sweaty, "I'm A Burger Babe" button-clad crowd.

Burger Records, the once-little tape gem from the OC, is now home base for garage lo-fi kings & queens—with artists ranging from the dark blues sound of Curtis Harding to the sweet and distorted pop of LA-transplant Colleen Green. Burger has proved to be more than just the sum of it's output and reignited the DIY scene of Southern California.

If there was one takeaway from Burger-A-Go-Go, it's that there is no shortage of young, inspired rock and rollers ready to take on tomorrow by picking up a guitar today.
