The Nixon Throw-down event is back in it's 2nd year. As part of the Billabong Bro-Down event at Snowpark NZ on the 28th of August, The Nixon Throw-down is going to see lots of action on the quaterpipe. Big air's and technical prowess is what its all about and there will be no shortage of talent participating in this years event. This years event on Friday 28th August is set to explode. With some of the top snowboarders in the world combined with local talent it will be Southern Hemi's premiere quarterpipe event of the season! The event will be run in an open jam format allowing riders to get plenty of runs in, this is the perfect setting for pushing the limits of amplitude and technical trickery.
Last years highlights included top international and local riders battling it out including, Finnish Billabong rider Anti Autti won the best trick in the mens event with buttery smooth 900's. Top Kiwi rider James Hamilton got into the action when he claimed the highest air of the day in the men's event. It wasn't just the open men either, NZ Olympic athlete Julianne Bray took both best trick and highest air in the women's and up-and-coming Aussie shredder Scotty James impressed with some big tricks in the juniors division.
The Quarter is set in a natural amphitheater making it a sick spot for viewing the event while listening to the DJs beats and enjoying fun the sun... get down to the Nixon Throw-down 09
