Jordy Smith (ZAF) prevailed and claimed a one-of-a-kind Nixon for "Highest Heat Score" during the second stop of the WTA (Winner Takes All) this year at J-Bay.

The Nixon WTA is a winner-takes-all event along four stops of the 2011 ASP (Association of Surfing Professionals) World Tour. The WTA awards surfers for achievements during these four stops, with challenges ranging from Highest Heat Score to Heaviest Wave. Open to all surfers from trials to finals, The WTA has become a coveted and sought after part of these ASP stops.

"The Jeffreys Bay stop of the WCT is one event that every surf fan waits for all year long," stated Nixon marketing manager, Mike Murciano. "Even with lackluster conditions, these surfers know how to pull it off."

Jordy Smith did just that in round five of the event while surfing against Bede Durbidge, by accumulating a staggering 18.30 points as a heat total. The conditions at the event weren't "all time" Jeffreys Bay, but there were still some golden moments in the event. Jordy was able to show the surfing world what he was capable of with this victory. While the forecasted swell never really reached its early predicted potential, it still offered some great surf for the competitors and the event.

As this year's WTA Jeffreys Bay winner, Jordy Smith was awarded a custom Nixon Magnacon watch valued at over $10,000 USD. This one-of-a-kind watch features a custom engraved case back, a Swiss tide movement, 60 black diamonds around the bezel, four decorative emeralds on the dial, 24 emeralds on the indices, six emeralds on the crown, all finished with an applied South African flag with country colors on the hands.

Previous Nixon WTA Jeffreys Bay winners for Highest Heat Score included:
2010-Taj Burrow
2009- Dane Reynolds
2008- Taylor Knox
2007- Kelly Slater
