After six tour stops with 20 of the world's best skateboarders in four countries, the final event in the 2013 SLS Nike SB World Tour series is headed to Newark, New Jersey on August 25. Dubbed the "Super Crown" event of SLS, eight pros will battle it out for a chance at a $200,000 cash prize purse and a custom Nixon trophy watch valued at $20,000 USD.
Back to defend his champion title is 2012 SLS Nike SB World Tour overall winner, Nyjah Huston who will share the course with Paul Rodriguez, Sean Malto, Chris Cole, Mikey Taylor, Shane O'Neill, Torey Pudwill and Luan Oliveira.
Nixon's partnership with Street League is now in its fourth year and the collaborative process continues to push the boundaries when it comes to creating a one-of-a-kind trophy watch. Working hand-in-hand with Nixon's design team, SLS founder Rob Dyrdek did not shy away from going all out with the championship watch. Said Rob, "The results of the collaboration is an amazing gold and black contrast that pairs perfectly with our gold championship trophy, championship ring, and SLS shield. The Super Crown Champion will wear this watch with honor. The stakes around becoming SLS Champion are more prestigious than ever."
Tune in on August 25 at 7pm EST to see it all go down live on ESPN 2 and StreetLeague.com.
