09.23.10 The world of surf, skate, snow, art, music and culture converged for one night during The Nixon Art Mosh held in New York's Chelsea neighborhood.

Hot off the heels of showing in Singapore, the one-night only event showcased the artistic works of Michael Halsband, Craig Wetherby, Mark Cunningham, Patrick Trefz, Agnes Montgomery, Mike Blabac, Grant Ellis, Chivo, Ellen Stagg, David Shull, Grant Brittain, Taylor Dunfee, Kassia Meador, Brian Bielman, Dustin Ortiz, Loser Machine and The Uprising.

Before the doors were opened to The Art Mosh, eager partygoers were greeted on the street with a live accordion player recital. Once inside guests were not only visually stimulated with wall-to-wall art, they were also met with a musical performance from the legendary Ray Barbee and Chuck Treece, a set from the lovely ladies of 2MandyDJ's and a dance party infused live act from Brooklyn's Ninjasonik. All the while two films were screening, people were packing into the custom Nixon photobooth, and an ice cream vendor was on-hand to delight partygoers with sweet treats.

Nixon friends and family in attendance included Mos Def, Ricky Powell, Danny Davis, Colin McKay, May Andersen, Iikka Backstrom, Mark Cunningham, Romain de Marchi, Jen Smith, Danny Fuller, Nicolas Muller, Emmet Malloy and Mikey Detemple.

The Nixon Art Mosh will continue to make stops around the globe with upcoming installations in Los Angeles, Berlin and beyond. Stay tuned for more details.

A special thanks to Mountain Dew, VICE, and all of those who came out to the New York City event.
