Faces: Amanda Chincelli of Seea
When it comes to suiting up—for the beach or for the street—Seea is our ultimate. The brand's collection of wetsuits combine unmatched design and feminine details with legitimate function, while their t-shirts and leggings are perfect for post-beach relaxation (and naps, if we're being honest!). So it came as no surprise when we found out that Seea's founder and creative director Amanda Chincelli is as infectious and addicting as the clothes she creates.
We just had to know more and Amanda was kind enough to show us her San Clemente, CA, workshop and even take us down to San-O for a surf! Enjoy the resulting photos and interview below.
So, um, favorite color?
I love combining muted with bright. If I was to make a pattern right now, I would combine shiny copper, with a stripe of bright peach and neon green dots.
An unexpected place you love to add a little color?
Fiat 600 with surf racks, it's way cooler than the 500. I also really want a 1969 Datsun 1600 pickup.
What's your can't-fail outfit?
Printed silk button-down shirt, black skinny Levis and gold flats. If it's chilly I'll add my amazing raw edge leather jacket; it's the perfect nude/dusty pink color and goes with everything.
My imaginary bestie is:
I can never leave home without:
Snacktime: Savory or sweet?
Health nut or guilt-free glutton?
Gelato is healthy right? I try to eat healthy most of the time, but I don't obsess over it.
Primary's or pastels?
Pastels, but not too girly.
California in the 60s.
Favorite real life destination?
Florence, Italy. There is no place like home.
On Saturdays, you'll find me...
At San O surfing or in my studio sewing.
Mixing prints… is how I lead a colorful life.
