Travis Pastrana sets new World Record with rally car jump on NYE
01.05.10 As the clock struck 2010, Travis Pastrana jumped his Subaru Impreza 269 feet, breaking previous record of 171 feet set by Ken Block but the news continues as he did it in front of the live television audience and under the first blue moon that shone up above the sky after 19 years. Travis landed on a barge floating 200 feet off the Long Beach pier.
Travis says, there was a time when everyone wants to prevent me saying that's crazy! That's dumb! And it is a time when I say I am going to jump on a barge with my car and they say that's Cool! You can do it you're Pastrana. He says that he has made that reputation by being better than actually he is and it is amazing that whenever he shares his idea of doing something different people rush to help him as they know he can do it, he will make it. He thinks that's just because people trust on his abilities but that's scary too and needed to think things a lot more after every stunt.
During final practice session in Lake Elsinore, Calif, Subaru rally team manager had his order number printed in black on a white plastic card writing that Ken's record was going to down on New Year Eve. There were posters all over Long Beach city by his friends claiming Travis Pastrana will make a car fly on New Year's Eve.
He has never made a New Year's resolution and he does not need the extra motivation. He lives his life as best he can and if he wants to change something than he never waits just for a second.
