HOSSEGOR, FRANCE-Nixon is proud to announce the recent addition of Norwegian freestyle snowboarder Mikkel Bang to the Snow Team.

As one of the most talented riders of his generation, Mikkel first made a name for himself on the international stage when he was only 13, showcasing a riding style that belied his years alongside a select group of precocious groms in Standard Films' White Balance.

Since those early days, Mikkel has added a couple of feet to his height, and today the 21-year-old is regarded as one of the most stylish park and backcountry riders in the world. His contest resume, meanwhile, proves that this insanely gifted regular footer can come up trumps when it matters most, nailing podium results at some of snowboarding's biggest freestyle contests including the X Games, US Open, Arctic Challenge and European Open.

In addition to maintaining his position as one of the most dominant forces on the contest scene, Mikkel has also been locking down stellar video parts for the best part of a decade. Look out for his latest video part in Burton's new team movie, Standing Sideways.

Having achieved so much by the age of only 21, it's frightening to think Mikkel still has many more years in the tank to keep pushing the evolution of the sport. Where he'll take it is anyone's guess.

Off the snow, Mikkel is known for his great sense of humor and approachable character, making him a firm favorite among fellow pro riders and fans alike. He's also really into playing the guitar, and is often spotted strumming away in airport lounges as he chases winter around the globe.

After recently returning to the Northern Hemisphere following a successful trip to New Zealand, Mikkel is now gearing up for the new snow season, and said: "Joining the Nixon set-up at the beginning of the new season feels pretty sweet. I'm pumped to be part of such a stacked team of riders, and I'm looking forward to spending even more time on the hill riding with guys like Danny Davis, Romain de Marchi and JP - so stoked!"
