POSITION SUMMARY

The Director of Financial Reporting, Planning and Analysis is responsible for leading financial planning, accounting, reporting and analysis used for strategic and tactical decision-making. The role reports to the Chief Financial Officer and partners with the Executive Team and other global senior level managers to interpret and implement financial processes, reporting and analysis related to strategic planning, budgeting, and forecasting.  The Director of Financial Reporting, Planning and Analysis will lead the accounting, reporting and financial planning functions and be responsible for recommending IT systems improvements, recommending and implementing accounting process improvements and accounting staff management to produce high-quality accounting, reporting and analysis in an efficient, accurate and timely manner.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Contributes to company strategy and planning as it relates to driving business value through cost containment, process and profitability improvement
  • Develops, analyzes and reports on key performance indicators measuring the financial health of the organization. Advises management of variances, risks and opportunities
  • Analyzes actual operating results throughout the year as compared to budget and forecast performance
  • Monitor financial statement close activities for business segment including the review of journal entries, monthly account analyses and reconciliations to ensure the production of timely and accurate financial statements
  • On a weekly basis, ensure accurate, complete and timely rolling 26-week and 52-week Cash Flow projections
  • Operates as a business partner and consultant to functional business leaders supporting the continuous development of their financial discipline, enhancement of financial business acumen, and ensuring fiscal performance alignment with plans and priorities. This includes collaboration with non-finance personnel to further understanding of financial impact of business decisions and related processes
  • Work closely with the product development and management teams to ensure inventory and cost objectives are met on an ongoing basis
  • Develops financial models that assist management in understanding the financial impact of business decisions
  • Partners with the Sales & Marketing leadership to gain detailed financial insight into channel and product line profitability.
  • Prepares cost and profitability analyses and assists in the development of pricing models for new and existing practices
  • Builds, implements and continuously refines a financial delivery model, tailored to stakeholder needs, including functional business leaders, Finance leadership, and the Executive Team.  This encompasses accounting and financial reporting processes, improvements and documentation, budgeting and forecasting, IT system enhancements
  • Conducts monthly revenue, cost of goods sold, marketing and operating expense reviews with functional leaders to identify trends in variances from budget and forecasts, cost savings, and organizational optimization opportunities. Uses feedback to adjust budget, forecasts and financial models as appropriate.
  • Develops annual revenue and cost estimates for use in the annual budget and quarterly forecasts
  • Partner with the Sales & Marketing Management to gain detailed financial insight into channel and product line profitability
  • Apply financial and operational data analysis to draw conclusions and create recommendations on decisions and actions
  • Analyze cause & effect relationships in a problem and develop resolution alternatives
  • Communicate effectively with senior management and partners throughout the firm to develop and monitor key financial statistics
  • Monitors financial trends and budgeted/forecasted revenues and expenditures to ensure responsibility and control
  • Maintain internal control system, proactively assess and recommend areas for improvement financially and operationally, and develop, streamline and implement new accounting policies and procedures as needed.
  • Respond to special requests for financial data and analyses and for information on current and proposed projects and programs
  • Other duties as may be assigned to support business needs
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.

Key Interfaces

This position works in partnership with the accounting department encompassing the functional areas of accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger accounting, financial reporting and financial planning & analysis. Additionally, the position interacts with all cross-functional areas of Nixon and requires communication, collaboration and relationship-building skills with internal US and global stake holders. Key interfaces within finance are, CFO, accounting manager and staff.  Key interfaces throughout the organization include the Nixon Executive Leadership Team, Directors and Regional General Managers.

Qualifications & Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related field; Masters preferred
  • 10+ years of finance experience, including experience working in a US company with international operations
  • 5+ years of experience with financial planning & analysis (process, tactical)
  • 5+ years of experience with strategic, long-range business planning
  • 3+ years of experience as a Senior Accountant and/or Financial Analyst in the retail, eCommerce (DTD), and/or wholesale sector; Financial accounting background in manufacturing environment preferred 
  • Experience with Full Circle ERP System (i.e., Navision, Oracle, Great Plains), and inventory costing and control

POSITION SUMMARY

The Digital Designer reports to the Global Creative Director, and is responsible for the design of Nixon.com, email marketing and a wide array of digital marketing materials. The Digital Designer implements the brand standards and seasonal direction set by the Creative Director and overseen by the Art Director. He or She is a member of the Creative Studio team that creates innovative and engaging digital creative across all marketing, ecommerce and digital projects.

This position involves sketching, wire framing and designing everything from landing pages and emails to website updates. This position is required to up their sleeves and do production work as needed to implement the assets being used within their projects. This position will ensure that the consumer journey from email to Nixon.com is a well-designed experience and provide flexible solutions based on company goals, standards and feedback. The ideal candidate should possess inspiring and excellent visual design skills and ability to create brand excitement and engagement, as well as familiarity with common UI design patterns and conventions, and have proven experience with user experience. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills in order to provide a design perspective to teammates and project stakeholders. Attention to detail and a strong design sensibility are essential.

This position works closely with the Studio Team and will have an immediate, consumer-level impact on the Nixon brand. They should be passionate about design and providing the best user experience across all devices. They ensure efficient and nimble creation of this content working in collaboration with stakeholders. They will ideate, create and produce site and channel-ready creative. They will help implement best practices in UX and UI in collaboration with the cross-functional team. They will be responsible for juggling a variety of deliverables in a timely manner to feed a growing and dynamic digital direct to consumer business.

KEY FUNCTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design and create web ready artwork for weekly web refreshes, site sales, new page templates, email, social, and other digital content.
  • Create graphic assets, banners, responsive landing pages, blog content and websites
  • Concept and create digital marketing assets for email and support paid advertising efforts based on a creative brief provided by marketing, which are aligned with industry best practices and historical performance data.
  • Understand and interpret the Nixon brand in the creation of all digital assets.
  • Partner with creative colleagues on photography and copy needs for creative assignments.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders in the development of concepts for all digital marketing. Abide by the review process and timelines.

  • Assure that each graphic element meets production specifications including resolution, ADA compliance, web-safe colors and web size-optimization/sizing
  • Provides photo editing, retouching and image manipulation skills including sizing, optimization, collage and layering in collaboration with the internal studio team

Position has significant interaction with many areas of Nixon, necessitating excellent communication, collaboration and relationship-building skills. REQUIREMENTS

  •  Bachelor’s degree preferred and/or art school degree; high school diploma required
  • 4+ years of experience in relevant field required

This role is the Service Center jack of all trades. In this position, you are counted on to process repair and small part orders quickly and efficiently. You are expected to jump in wherever needed to keep the service lifecycle flowing, including assisting with light repairs. POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for leading Nixon's end customer service team in providing exceptional experiences to end consumers. POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Shopify Developer is a member of the e-Commerce Development team that works on small and large ecommerce/digital projects and initiatives including global websites in the US, Europe, AsiaPac + Japan. In addition to being responsible for developing high performance solutions on Shopify platform, the Senior Shopiy Developer will work on in-house development initiatives and provide insight in business analysis, conducting needs assessments, performing root cause analysis, and assisting in key functions involving requirement gathering with internal stake holders. This is a full-time, hands-on role and requires strong web development skills. The Senior Shopify Developer is responsible to implement (i.e. design, develop, unit test) technical solutions for web applications based on functional requirements and technical specifications. They should be capable to mentor software engineers and maintain high quality standards. They are responsible to collaborate with product owners and stakeholders, establish goals and set clear expectations, prioritize and bring a finished product across the finish line. Position Summary

As the Social Producer, you are at the center of the Nixon community. You are the real person behind the Nixon social media – curating, creating, and sharing out awesome content, engaging with Nixon fans and customers, and collaborating with like-mined partners. You also work every day with our North American team of Nixon athletes, artists, and activists – from accomplished action sports athletes to the young kids on the flow team. You make sure we share out their content, stoke them out, and stay in touch regularly in the DMs. What’s more, you will be Nixon’s eyes and ears on the ground at SoCal events ensuring we are actively in the mix. You are all about building love for the Nixon brand, social media savvy (on top of emerging trends and technologies) and excited about new ways to engage our community.

Key Functions and Responsibilities

  • As an expert in organic social media, you will actively leverage new trends, emerging technologies and ensure that best practices are applied
  • Plan and curate all organic social media with direction from Global Brand Content Manager
  • Source content internally through Editorial Calendar and externally through the Nixon Team
  • Assist in curating Nixon’s unique brand voice with authenticity and constantly across all communications with direction from Global Brand Content Manager
  • Interact with people following our feed and feeds of other like-minded brands – engage in discussions, field questions, re-direct negative comments to Customer Service
  • Create product content for “stories” and act as eye/ears at SoCal events
  • Propose and manage seasonal social media activations
  • Regularly communicate with North American Team: know their travel/project plans, seek product & content feedback, communicate requests for additional product support
  • Distribute digital brand assets to North American Team and regional accounts
  • Collaborate monthly with Nixon regional offices and distributors to align social media efforts
  • Working with product and marketing, develop and execute social media campaigns/activations to support the launch of new seasons, products and collaborations
  • Assist in casting for studio shoots through identifying talent through social media
  • Work closely with our global digital marketing team on identifying integration points between organic social and paid social, process for micro influencers, and ensuring a holistic go-to-market calendar for organic social with other marketing channels.

 

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in digital marketing, communication, or video production preferred
  • 3+ years of experience with managing brand social media accounts
  • 3+ years of experience in developing brand content and activations
  • 3+ years of experience in action sports industry
  • Portfolio of professional experience required

Technical Skills and Experience

  • Expert knowledge of social media (Facebook, Instagram, Tik-Tok Twitter, Hootsuite, etc.)
  • Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Strong understanding of design principles; Proficient with multi-media production apps
  • Proven social media success (campaign execution, growth strategies, giveaways)
  • Insider’s understanding of action sports (athletes, events, brands, trends)
  • Professional communication skills, ability to project-manage
  • Copywriting experience (AP Style preferred)
  • Ability to work at a fast pace, while spotting trends and pitching new ideas
  • Proactive, self-directed, positive outlook
  • Problem solving, critical thinking
  • Organized, detail-oriented

Work Location

  • Position based in Carlsbad, California, USA. Primarily on-site presence, with some remote work.
