Nixon Watch FAQs

How do I know what size watch is right for me?
The watch size you select ultimately depends on multiple factors. The two main factors that will influence the size watch you go with include: the size of your wrist and your personal preference when it comes to watch size. You can view our watch size guide to see examples of how our watches look on different size wrists. Personal preference is a decision only you can make but generally, larger and oversized watches are intended to make a visual statement while smaller watches are intended to be understated and more subtle.
Are the Nixon watches in this collection waterproof?
None of the Nixon watches available are fully 100% waterproof. However, each of the watches comes with a specific water rating that will tell you exactly how much water exposure the watch is built to withstand. This water rating is listed on all of the individual product pages. One of the most common water ratings on Nixon watches, for example, is 10 ATM. 10 ATM watches are safe to wear while swimming, showering or similar water exposure. The higher the water rating, the more water it can take on without breaking. Always read the water rating for your watch before getting your watch wet.
What are the differences between analog and digital watches?
The difference between analog and digital watches comes down to one simple thing: how does the watch tell time. If the watch uses multiple hands and static numbers on the watch dial to tell time, it's an analog. If the watch has an LCD screen with numbers that change visually, then the watch is digital.
Are these watches meant for both men and women?
Yes, Nixon watches are available for both men and women. And many of the watches available at Nixon are actually suitable for all genders. The best way to determine whether a watch is meant for men or women is to find the watch case size. Smaller watches are generally recommended for female wrists while larger watches are generally recommended for male wrists. Ultimately, any watch can be worn by anyone and the decision you make will come down to what you prefer!
