Caitlin Simmers
Fluid style with a punk-rock approach, Caitlin (we call her Caity) Simmers is the next generation of surfing realized today. Often likened to her own surf idol, Dane Reynolds, Caity possesses both powerful rail game and air prowess. At just 15 she won the US Open, making her one of the youngest surfers to ever do it. Caity also won the WSL Jack’s Pro WQS, the Nissan Super Girl Pro and the Ladybird division of Vans Stab High in Central America—talk about zero chill.
As it turns out, Caity is as mellow and level-headed as they come. With calm calculus, 16-year-old Caitlin turned down her spot at the 2022 WSL Championship, choosing instead to work at her own pace, school included. Although she has already accomplished more than most professional surfers will ever hope to, chances are she’ll likely make another global splash before this sentence ends.
